The top rib edge, heel and toe are worked in one solid color, while the rest of the stocking is worked in a stranded knitting pattern in 5 different colors. The heel is shaped using short rows. Please note that stranded knitting often needs to be worked on a needle thats 0. 5 1 mm [ to a whole needle size] larger to maintain the same gauge as the solid stockinette stitch sections. For this
